Naming Days

I come from a large family, 7 brothers and sisters, lots of nieces and nephews and of course I am a Nan to 3 beautiful boys! Naming days are an amazing way to celebrate the arrival of a new baby or sibling and I would love to be there and help make this an amazing time for your family, friends and of course the person of the day!

Often the timing for a Naming day is chosen to be performed at the same time as a 1st Birthday Party, however there is no time frame and so can be performed at any age.

Reasons for a Naming Day Ceremony? The arrival of a new baby, uniting of step or adopted children within a family, or an adult name change are all great reasons to hold a naming ceremony.

I will perform a personalised non-religious Ceremony where the child is welcomed into the family and the wider community. The parents make promises, grandparents may also be involved, and good friends or family members nominated as ‘Life Guardians’.

There are no legalities involved with Baby Naming ceremony, they are more just a recognition of the gift of life and love and the miracle of birth.

Naming Days are being celebrated more and more as a party rather than just a Ceremony, although many rituals are still performed.

The inclusion of a Ritual can personalises a Naming day – Popular rituals are: Sand Ceremonies, the lighting of candles, wish books and trees, balloon releases, rose petal blessing, fairy dust blessing or the writing of a poem about the child.

A free Naming Certificate as well as certificates to the siblings, godparents/guardians and grandparents will be provided at the end of the ceremony (up to 10 certificates).

Contact me to make your Naming Day an event to remember.
